KleptoRadio

Andy Grimm - Klepto Radio

KleptoRadio, a cover band made up of Scott on Vocals, Aaron and Jody on guitar, Firat on Bass guitar, and Andy on drums, were absolutely the best out there. And the reason they were the best was straightforward: to the best of my ability to judge, they were all as skilled as Andy.

All Mixed Up

It was a full band of musicians who played with the same professionalism, precision, and musical depth that Andy did. They took the band seriously. They worked hard, they rehearsed like professionals. And because of that, they had a huge following at every gig and were some of the most talented musicians I've been lucky enough to be around.

They also became some of my closest friends, and the times we had together were the wildest, funniest, and most fun years of my life.

I started running live sound for them whenever I could. I played keyboard when the opportunity came up. But more than anything, I watched, listened, and learned.

Kleptoradio practiced every week and played three or four shows a month, and every step of the way for while, Edith - a photographer, and our other roommate - and I were right there too. She and I went to every single gig and every practice with the band.

Being around KeptoRadio taught me what it actually takes to be a professional musician - the consistency, the preparation, the musicianship, the teamwork, the commitment to sounding great every single time. Those years with that band showed me firsthand what true professionalism in music looks like, and it made a lasting impact on me.
