Coming Home

I can’t believe the story has come full circle and we’ve arrived back home where we belong - in Fort Collins. Beautiful, artistic, colorful, welcoming, kind, and sunny Fort Collins.

My dream for almost twenty years was to live and work in Old Town, to really be part of the community. If my story was - at least to me - amazing up to this point, and I’m endlessly grateful that it was, it becomes an absolute dream from here on forward. I found my home at Clothes Pony and Dandelion Toys, one of the most important, beautiful, and simply the best store in Fort Collins. A home that lives and breathes community.

To be able to spend so much time here and get to know so many faces in the community, so many smiles… to watch so many moments of laughter, moments of tears, moments of bravery and independence and kindness - joining the family at Clothes Pony will simply remain unmatched for the impact it has had on my life. Being able to share so many moments there has been the highlight so far.

My nephew also accepted his first job at Clothes Pony and my niece was able to spend so much time there and feel so loved.

Clothes Pony allowed me to connect with this community in a way that I never thought was possible, and every time I think about it I’m so incredibly thankful for all the beautiful faces I was blessed to meet week after week, sometimes even day after day. I was able to grow so many true friendships in such a quick amount of time.

With that said, there is actually one standout in all of it... even working in the best toy store ever, with an incredible team of people, serving the most amazing community I could think of, there is still a standout...

Friday Sing-Alongs with JoJo.

Spending Friday after Friday with your kiddos, sometimes for years, watching them smile and dance, sing and grow, is the most meaningful thing I’ve ever had in my life. It simply takes the cake for my favorite thing I’ve ever done. I can’t imagine much of anything topping it.

I don’t know how to put into words the amount of appreciation and gratitude I have for my time doing Sing-Along, and for Clothes Pony as a whole, so I’ll leave the rest to pictures.

I’ve really appreciated putting this story together, and it’s been quite the personal journey for me - recounting all these memories. I hope my appreciation has shown throughout for how fortunate I’ve been to have so many amazing connections in my life.

I feel truly privileged, blessed, and honored.
